Activities: Understanding the Story (Comprehension)

Prediction

Overview

Objective

Based on information from the story, the students will predict future events. They should also be asked to justify their responses.


Facilitation Tips

This activity can be done as an oral or written project, individually, group, or whole class. Students can read the story as a group using the tracking function or have the page read by the computer using the audio icon. If done orally, encourage students to discuss their ideas with peers. You can add questions that may not be embedded in the program.


Levels

Prediction questions are asked at the end of certain pages in the story.


Note

Please note that the LTK+ team has discovered that the segmented version of words that should have a short O, instead use a long O. For example, the word dog is segmented as /d/ /oʊ/ /g/ instead of the proper /dɒg/. We will work to correct this error.
